Deep groove ball bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are the most common type of ball bearings and are used in a wide variety of applications. They have a simple design, are non-separable and well-suited for high and very high speeds and are robust in operation, requiring very little or no maintenance. In addition to open type bearings, these bearings often have steel shields or rubber seals installed on one or both sides and are prelubricated. They commonly feature pressed steel cages. However, for big deep groove ball bearings machined brass cages are used.

We offer deep groove ball bearings of the following types:

Self-aligning ball bearings

Self-aligning ball bearings are recommended when alignment of the shaft and housing poses difficulty. These bearings have two rows of balls and a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. The bearings generate less friction than other types of rolling bearings, hence enabling them to run cooler even at high speeds. Pressed steel cages are most widely used in this type of bearings. Some series of the self-aligning ball bearings are available with seals.

Following types of self-aligning ball bearings designs are available:

  • Basic design bearings
  • Bearings with an extended inner ring
  • Sealed bearings

Applications

  • Papermaking Machinery
  • Semiconductor
  • Gearboxes
Thrust ball bearing

Thrust ball bearings are commonly designed as single direction or double direction thrust ball bearings. They can sustain axial loads only and must not be subjected to any radial load. Pressed steel and machined brass cages are usually used in thrust ball bearings.

Main Features:

  • Available in single direction and double direction designs
  • Spherical aligning seats or aligning seat washers help accommodate initial misalignments in an assembly.
  • Separable design: the shaft washer, housing washer, ball and cage assembly can be mounted separately
  • High quality balls ensure quiet and smooth operation even at high speed.

Cylindrical roller bearings

In cylindrical roller bearings, the cylindrical rollers are in linear contact with the raceways. These bearings can sustain high radial loads and are well-suited for high speeds. The outer and inner rings of all types of cylindrical roller bearings are separable. These bearings generally feature pressed steel or machined brass cages, but occasionally molded polyamide cages are also used.

Cylindrical thrust roller bearings

Cylindrical roller thrust bearings contain cylindrical rollers. They can accommodate only axial loads, but they are suitable for heavy loads and have high axial rigidity. Furthermore, they are relatively insensitive to shock loads. The cages are machined brass. Normally these bearings can transmit axial loads in one direction. Cylindrical roller thrust bearings are very simple in design. The surface of the rollers is changed slightly and curved at its ends. These bearings are separable, hence individual components can be installed independently.

Applications:

  • Gearboxes
  • Crane Hooks
  • Oil Well Swivels
  • Cone Pumps
  • Winch Systems
Spherical roller bearings

Spherical roller bearings have two rows of rollers, a common sphered outer ring raceway and two inner ring raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis. The bearings are self-aligning and insensitive to misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. Spherical roller bearings can sustain both high radial and axial loads in both directions.

The standard range of spherical roller bearings includes:

  • Open bearings
  • Sealed bearings (steel shields or rubber seals installed on one or both sides)
  • Bearings for vibratory applications

Main Features and benefits:

  • A wide range of performance classes
  • Increased tolerance to high temperatures and all lubricants
  • Cages – Available in Polyamide, steel and brass cage assemblies

Spherical thrust roller bearings

Spherical roller thrust bearings have specially designed raceways and accommodate a large number of asymmetrical rollers. Well suited for heavy-duty applications, these bearings can sustain relatively high speeds, heavy axial loads in one direction as well as heavy radial loads. Tapered roller bearings

Tapered roller bearings have tapered inner and outer ring raceways and tapered rollers. They are perfectly suited to accommodating combined loads. The ability of the bearing to transfer axial load largely depends on the contact angle. The larger the angle, the greater the bearing’s ability to sustain axial load. Tapered roller bearings generally have a separable design. Tapered roller bearings provide various important and unique performance characteristics to meet a wide range of application requirements.
