BED:
Heavy-duty, ribbed, rigid gray cast iron construction eliminates vibration (when properly leveled and installed).
Induction-hardened and ground double-prismatic guideways. Integrated removable gap bridge allows machining of large-diameter parts.

HEADSTOCK:
Precisely machined and internally ribbed cast iron headstock provides vibration-free performance, even during high-speed or heavy-duty turning.
Gears are ground and made from case-hardened steel, running in an oil bath. The spindle is hardened, precision-ground, and dynamically balanced.
Standard spindle nose includes Cam-lock and allows for direct mounting of 3-jaw self-centering chucks, 4-jaw independent chucks, face plates, or flange adaptors.

ZMM lathes can be equipped with SKF, FAG or NSK spindle bearings with preloaded bearing assemblies, providing consistent high-precision performance over time.

FEED TRANSMISSION SYSTEM:
Mechanized longitudinal and cross feed movements. Built-in overload protection mechanism.
Locking device prevents simultaneous engagement of the leadscrew nut and power feed. Rapid traverse in both axes.

THREADING GEARBOX:
The feed gearbox allows a wide range of feeds and threading operations — including metric, inch, module, and DP threads. Designed for intuitive and user-friendly control during part machining.

ZMM Bulgaria lathes with spindle speed control are equipped with high-quality, maintenance-free, and energy-efficient motors. The stepless spindle speed adjustment allows for precise control of the chuck’s rotational movement, which significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of metal part machining.

Unlike traditional universal lathes, here the spindle speed is controlled continuously via a frequency inverter (VFD). This allows for the use of constant cutting speed mode (V-const) — meaning the cutting speed remains consistent as the turning diameter changes, resulting in higher surface precision and finish quality.

Upon request, machines can be configured with digital readout (DRO) systems to provide accurate linear positioning and movement feedback.

These lathes feature a rigid cast-iron bed, ensuring stability and rigidity during machining of large or heavy components. Additionally, the machines include an emergency stop button, automatic longitudinal spindle drive, and a safety interlock on the chuck guard.

ZMM Bulgaria pipe-threading lathes are designed for machining pipes and pipe fittings used in the oil & gas industry, metallurgy, and power generation sectors. These machines are suitable for various turning operations, including threading of metric, inch, module, and pitch threads.

Optional equipment can enhance the machine’s functionality and includes: mechanical lathe chucks, cylinders and vises, clamping jaws, sleeve-mandrel tooling, and tool posts.

The spindles are equipped with preloaded angular contact precision bearings from leading manufacturers. All major components are made of stainless steel, ensuring reliable performance and machining accuracy.

ZMM Bulgaria CNC lathes are available with control systems and servo drives from Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Fagor. They allow for complex turning of components with diameters of 500, 890, 1090, or 1320 mm, depending on the model version. Designed to handle a wide range of turning operations for medium, large, and oversized parts, they are ideal for small and medium-batch production. We offer two CNC machine types: LT and LCC.

• LCC-type machines may include a motor-driven turret and C-axis. They feature smooth spindle speed regulation.

• LT-type machines are equipped with a headstock with 3 or 4 speed ranges, switched manually.
